Privacy policy

This policy explains what we do with personal information when you use this website or get in touch with us. If you go on to become a client, your engagement letter and client terms of business apply as well.

1. Who we are

dns Corporate Advisory is a trading style of DNS Accountants Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 12237040, VAT number GB335118815) and regulated by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Our London office is Suite 304 Linen Hall, 162-168 Regent Street, W1B 5TB; our registered office is DNS House, 382 Kenton Road, Harrow HA3 8DP.

DNS Accountants Ltd is the data controller for everything described here. For anything to do with your data, email contact@dnscorporateadvisory.co.uk or call +44 (0)20 8903 6330. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under [ICO registration number].

2. What we collect

From the enquiry form: your name, email address, phone number and company name if you give them, the type of enquiry you select, your message, and whether you ticked the consent box. We also record the page you sent it from and the time. Your IP address passes through our spam check but is not stored with the enquiry.

If you email, call or meet us: the content of that correspondence and our notes.

If you become a client: the information we need for the engagement, including financial and ownership details and the identity documents required under anti-money-laundering law. That is governed by your engagement letter.

We do not buy contact lists or ask for sensitive data through this website.

3. Cookies and analytics

This is a static site. It sets no advertising, profiling or analytics cookies, which is why you see no cookie banner. Three things are worth naming:

• Cloudflare Turnstile checks that the enquiry form is being filled in by a person, not a bot. It may set a short-lived cookie for that check alone.
• Cloudflare Web Analytics gives us page view counts. It is cookieless and does not track individuals or follow you across sites.
• Google Fonts serves the typefaces, so your browser requests them from Google and Google sees your IP address.

If we ever add cookies of our own, we will update this page and ask your consent first.

4. How we use it, and our lawful bases

• To answer your enquiry. Our legitimate interests in responding to a business enquiry.
• To follow up afterwards about how we might help. Your consent, given by the tick on the form, which you can withdraw at any time.
• To provide our services once you engage us. Performance of our contract with you.
• To meet legal duties such as anti-money-laundering checks and professional record keeping. Legal obligation.
• To keep the site up and free of spam. Our legitimate interests in a secure, working site.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell your data or share it for advertising. These companies handle it for us:

• Attio Ltd (London, UK), our CRM, where enquiry and client contact records are stored.
• Resend, Inc. (US), which delivers a copy of your enquiry to the relevant advisers from noreply@dnscorporateadvisory.co.uk.
• Cloudflare, Inc. (US), which hosts and protects the site. If the CRM is unavailable, a fallback copy of your enquiry sits in Cloudflare KV storage for up to 90 days.
• Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd, which provides our email through Microsoft 365.

We also share information with lenders if you ask us to arrange finance, with advisers and counterparties during a transaction as you agree, and with the authorities where the law requires it.

6. Where your information is stored

Attio holds data in the UK and Microsoft 365 in the EEA. Cloudflare and Resend are US companies; Cloudflare processes this site's traffic in the EU and UK. Those transfers are covered by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

7. How long we keep it

• Enquiries that do not become work: 24 months from our last contact, then deleted.
• Fallback copies in Cloudflare KV: deleted automatically after 90 days.
• Client files: as set out in your engagement terms and the statutory periods that apply, normally six years after the engagement ends.
• Web server logs at Cloudflare: transient, kept briefly for security and not used to identify you.

8. Marketing

We do not run a newsletter. If we start one it will be opt-in. Ticking the consent box lets us follow up on your enquiry; it is not a subscription, and you can withdraw it by replying to any email from us.

9. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:

• give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
• correct anything that is wrong or incomplete;
• delete your data;
• restrict how we use it;
• send you, or another provider, the data you gave us in a portable format;
• stop using it where we rely on legitimate interests;
• treat any consent you gave as withdrawn.

Email contact@dnscorporateadvisory.co.uk, say which right you want to use, and give us enough detail to find your records. We reply within one month, and there is no charge.

10. Automated decision-making

We make no decisions about you by automated means and we do not profile you. The Turnstile check judges whether a form submission looks automated, not anything about you.

11. Links to other sites

This site links to other websites, including our LinkedIn page. Once you leave, their privacy policies apply, not ours.

12. Children

This site is aimed at business owners and their advisers. We do not knowingly collect data about anyone under 18.

13. Changes to this policy

We update this page when what we do changes. The date at the top shows the last revision, and we flag anything significant here.

14. Complaints

If we have handled your data badly, tell us first and we will put it right.
